Something rare happened on a beach in Newquay in the early morning. The tide retreated and left behind a dead whale. It is a big whale with blood on it. Why is it dead? Is it diseased? Is there a risk to a human? It is a juvenile animal, and thin, 16.5 m in length. It was not well-nourished. The police had to keep people and dogs away from the body. Samples were taken (with a power saw) for pathology - brain, stomach, muscle, to investigate what was the cause of death. Is the body dangerous? Now there is the problem of removing it.
